Derek and I went to high school together - but never met and we have probably crossed each others path a hundred times. He was a Senior while I was a Freshman.

We met over the summer after weeks of talking online. Most people look down upon online dating sites, but I am not one for meeting a random stranger at a bar, and neither was Derek. We officially met one night at a local Starbucks, and spent hours talking.

The next few days we went on a few small dates, and we've been together ever since.
