Scott had taken me into the city the weekend after my birthday. We decided to go to the Museum of Natural History so we spent the day there. After, we went to Rockefeller Center, I had NO idea he was about to propose! He said that he really wanted to go ice skating on the rink. I had never been ice skating at Rockefeller Center so I was excited, but more nervous because I had not been ice skating since I was a kid. The line was about 2 hours long. When we finally got our skates on and got on the ice, the first snow fall of the winter started. It was so beautiful. I started skating around the rink, surprised that I could actually ice skate! We went around a few times and then Scott said that his ankles hurt and we should stop. We stopped by the statue and then he proceeded to get a piece of paper out of his jacket. I thought "oh how sweet, he wrote a poem for my birthday!" As he started to read it, I slowly realized it was NOT for my birthday! The poem ended with "Will you Marry me?" He then got on one knee, on the ice, and proposed!! I immediately said yes!! Then we skated around for a bit and then headed home. I was making phone call after phone call letting my friends and family know that we were engaged! We then arrived back at my house and I ran in, excited to show my parents the ring. To my surprise MY WHOLE FAMILY was there, including Scott's family!! They had arranged a surprise congratulations party for us!! It was truly the happiest day of my life!!
