What can or should a bride expect from a coordinator? A couple should expect that a coordinator would provide them with the peace of mind of knowing that all phases of their event are in good hands. The coordinator should bring his or her professional experience to the table, always provide knowledgeable support for any situation that may arise and most importantly provide a flawless execution to their event. How soon after she gets engaged should a bride secure the services of a coordinator? Depending on what services the couple is looking for is what the decision will be based on. If a couple is looking for a full planning service then I would recommend booking a planner very soon after the engagement date. If the couple is looking for a coordinator, then soon after the venue and vendors are booked would be a good time. Does a coordinator take over the entire planning process or does she accompany and assist the bride? A coordinator provides assistance leading up to the date of the wedding and on the day of the wedding. A planner will assist the bride with the entire planning process as well as with the day of coordination. How can a coordinator be of service to a bride who really doesn’t know what direction she wants to go in? Essentially the coordinator is there to provide knowledgeable and professional experience to any bride in need of services. The day normally starts at the location in which the bride is preparing. We contact and confirm all vendors and ensure they are all where they need to be and most importantly, on time. The ceremony and reception site are always inspected to ensure all details are properly handled, event timeline is followed to ensure everything is going according to plan and basically the coordinator is there to handle all of the "behind the scenes" issues that a bride and groom should never have to deal with on their special day. |
