Under 25 brides

just wondering...have you gotten flak about getting married too early? no one i know from high school or college who is my age (or even a little older) is even close to getting engaged, so everyone was REALLY surprised. no one in my family has said anything b/c i've been with fh so long it was inevitable, but people who don't know us as well and a lot of our friends think we're jumping the gun and it's way too early. have other girls gotten this? also, do you think it (reactions or no reactions) has anything to do with how long you've been with fh?

Newlywed crashing. DH & I were engaged when we were 21. We were married at 24. We got some comments about getting engaged so young. Blah, blah, blah. Don't let it bother you. People will always have comments about something. They say something if your too young, if your too old, etc.. As long as your happy that is all that matters.

Nope. Everyone is really happy for me. I think some of my friends were surprised that I was the first of all of us to get engaged, but they don't think I'm too young.

I think some people probably think that I shouldn't be doing it so young because FH has full custody of his daughter...but whatever. I've been acting like an adult for a while now, I've had to due to various circumstances. So I don't really care what they think.

well except for one beeyatch that i used to be friends w/... she was talking smack about how we were too young and then a few months later, her and her bf ran off to city hall to get married

p.s. she's the same age as me, he's a year younger

No one close to me has said anything... Not to sound obnoxious or anything, but I am really mature for my age and have a lot of responsibilities for someone my age. Everyone close to me knows I have a good head on my shoulders and that I have a good sense of reality.
The only people who have made comments are people who don't know me very well. Oh, and as of late FSIL but that is because she is a bitter b!tch who hates me for no reason

Everyone that knows us, knows that it was inevitable and supports us. We were at that point in our relationship where it was time to get engaged. Our relationship has been very mature...it was the natural progression. Some people like coworkers, and some of FHs friends think we are young, but it doesnt bother us. We know in our hearts we are ready for it!

for me no-but then again my fam is from the south and all my cousins got married around 20-im 23..my cuz is 21 and has been married for almost a year, and is due with their 1st child in april..im actually late for my fam

i have! fil's were sort of not thrilled about it. i feel like people do not consider the fact that by the time we get married we will have been together for 5 years and have known each other for 7 years. i also feel like i have lost several friends because they assume that because i am engaged that i am somehow not the same person or un-relatable. oh well...

I'm 22 but me and FH have been together forever. When I tell a stranger they sometimes give me a look like really?
Because those who are close to us know we have been together for so long, they are very excited for us. However FSIL has made comments about it every now and agin and I think its because she got engaged 2 mos before us and because she is 25.
The dumb thing about it is that even when they got engaged they had no plans to get married anytime soon so I really don't understand her attitude sometimes.

i was 23 when we got engaged.. fh was 22

i will be 25 @ my wedding & fh will be 24

i haven't been told that we're too young.. i think everyone expected it.. we've been together 9 years

I'm 24, and FH will be 29 when we get married. I think that once everyone met FH, no one really cared about my age...they just LOVE him! I'm pretty lucky.

sry to crash....I think my family probably would have been more like that if they didnt like FH so much, but he is very mature livig on his own for almost 6 years since he was 18. People I barely know usually say somehting along the lines of *wow thats young, congratulations* --with a weird look. It dosen't bother me though, i think people may have been thinking that at the beginning but now that we have a lot of vendors booked and stuff they see its serious.

i have. apparently some of the friends i have think that since i'll be getting married at the age of 21, i'll never leave the apartment again because i'll be old and married. surprisingly, our family have been a lot more supportive than some friends but as the date has gotten closer, the few friends who had something to say have come around big time.

Some people said we should wait awhile.
I'll be 25 on my wedding day FH will be 29.
(Everyone is more concerned abt me than anyway FH :lo:)

For the most part everyone is excited...I get more s*h*i*t bcuz we live 2gether and arent married
