Marriage License Question
We getting married in Manhattan, if we get the license in Nassau is it valid in Manhattan? I keep reading the license just needs to be issued by the state but then I read on the NYC Dept of Records website that the license needs to be issued from one of the 5 boroughs. I can't through to a "live" person on the phone at the Centre Street office. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

That is fine. I am getting mine in Nassau and getting married in Brooklyn. It just needs to be issued within the state to make it valid.

I'm getting married in Nassau and getting my license in Queens...I asked the judge and he said it didn't matter that's a state thing not a city thing...so I think it would be the same the other way around. Also try calling on of other offices I called the kew gardens office last week and a person picked up right away.
